Vegan for 11 years, Karin Olsen is passionate about sharing her plant-based lifestyle and promoting vegan products, people, and places.
For many years, she worked in PR and marketing in Los Angeles and New York primarily focusing on entertainment, content delivery, and technology. In the late 90s, she started AMAZONpr and worked with such companies as Fandango and CinemaNow. In 2012 she moved to Dallas where she published a neighborhood magazine for Preston Trails; consulted with the Texas Veggie Fair and the Food as Medicine Summit & Expo; worked with VegWorld Magazine; and launched Plant Power Productions offering consulting services in PR, marketing, communications, content creation, business development and sales. She has a special interest in projects focused on whole-food/plant-based/vegan lifestyle, holistic health, and healing, sustainable living, and animal welfare. She is currently based in Phoenix and Los Angeles.
Karin’s vegan interests started early. Growing up in cattle country, she knew from a young age she didn’t like eating meat and didn’t understand why some animals were considered pets and others food. Professionally and personally, Karin is devoted to helping people heal themselves through food as medicine/plants-not-pills as well as stopping the systemic abuse of animals raised for food or food production. She earned the T. Colin Campbell Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate and is a certified health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Karin has also practiced Bikram Yoga for more than 30 years and is a certified instructor.
Julianna Arnold drives the strategic marketing and branding division of the company. An accomplished multi-lingual marketing and business development professional, Julianna has worked with global companies and non-profits designing strategic marketing, business development, and fundraising platforms that have launched initiatives in diverse fields ranging from consumer retail and renewable energy to global health and education.
Having spent the lion’s share of her early career in Washington DC and abroad, Julianna returned to Los Angeles in 2009 to run marketing and communications for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, where she spearheaded the company’s rebranding efforts and developed and implemented new market strategies for multi-unit franchise development in both the US and globally. In 2015 she moved on to be one of the founding members of a start-up fast-casual restaurant in Southern California that launched four locations in 2016, overseeing all marketing, communications, and branding.
Driven by her passion for social justice, Julianna returned to the non-profit world in 2019 to head up marketing and communications for College Advising Corps, a national organization that focuses on educational equity in the US.
A former collegiate athlete, Julianna is passionate about sports and fitness, health and wellness, and the role a plant-based lifestyle can play in promoting mental, emotional, and physical health and well-being.
